EDITORIAL BOARD

2012 NCPCTM Editorial Board Members
The NCPCTM Editorial Board is a team of subject matter experts drawn from the ECCHOTM membership and the industry with broad professional experience and expertise. This volunteer group works with ECCHOTTM under the guidance of the Human Resources Research Organization (HumRRO), an independent, nonprofit corporation with expertise in all aspects of the credentialing. With the support and guidance of HumRRO, the Editorial Board works to build a valid and fair certification process following professional and regulatory guidelines. Goals for this group include:
 

  • Establishing and updating the NCPCTM examination blueprint, a document that outlines the knowledge domains of check payments in the following categories: Rules, Laws, and Regulations, Fraud and Risk Mitigation, Check Operations, Check Products
  • Creating the test questions for the annual NCPTM certification exam
  • Reviewing the results of the NCPTM certification exam to determine the appropriate pass/ fail threshold

CHRIS COLEMAN   KEVIN CRANFORD   MARY GILMEISTER
As Vice President of Float & Transportation for BBVA Compass, Chris also serves as the Image Exchange Liaison. In this role, he represents the bank in industry groups related to rules and bank processing changes for Electronic Check Presentment and Image Exchange including a leadership role in a major image exchange users group. He is also responsible for payments studies and internal performance reporting which is used for industry comparisons and develop payments strategies.
 
Chris holds a degree in Finance from Auburn University accompanied by 20 years experience in the U.S. financial services industry with extensive experience in Check Operations.

 
  Kevin joined BB&T in 1984 and has devoted much of his time since 2004 to Check Image initiatives. After helping prepare the bank for the new Check 21 legislation, he played an integral role in transitioning BB&T from a paper-based check clearing system to a fully image-enabled process, including Image Proof, Forward Image Exchange, Image Returns, Image Adjustments and Branch Capture.

Currently he manages BB&T’s Regional Operations – Project & Business Support group. In the past several years he has managed BB&T’s Print & Mail Support, Float and Transportation Services, and Branch Capture Support. He is currently Chairman of SVPCo Rules & Operations Committee and represents BB&T at an industry level by participating in the following:
  Mary is the president of WACHA - The Premier Payments Resource and an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP). Mary has served as WACHA’s president for the past 18 years. In addition to her role as president, Mary also has served on a number of national Committees such as NACHA’s (the National ACH Association) Marketing Committee, the NACHA Board of Directors. She chaired a nationwide Direct Deposit campaign in 1998 and participated on the Federal Debit Collection Improvement Act of 1996. In addition, Mary has served as Chairman of the RPA (a national organization created to serve the interests of all of the Regional Payment Associations, including WACHA) and has served on the steering committees for two of NACHA’s councils, the Electronic Check Council and the Corporate Payments Council and chaired many national rule-making Committees for NACHA. Mary Currently serves on NACHA’s Risk Management Advisory Board and Government Relations.

SUSAN C. GOOLD
Ms. Goold is a Vice President of The Clearing House and product manager for the SVPCO Image Payments Network and related products. She has been with SVPCO for ten years. Her responsibilities include business management, marketing, strategy, and product development for SVPCO products and services.

Ms. Goold has 28 years of experience in financial services, including product management and marketing, managing all payment types. Her payments experience includes many years at New York banks in product management and marketing for ACH, check, and wire transfer. Prior to that, she served as director of information services at the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA).

Education: B.A. Managerial Economics and English, Marietta College.

 


 
 
FRED LAING
has 28 years of experience in financial services, including product management and marketing, managing all payment types. Her payments experience includes many years at New York banks in product management
